Vintage Three Sitting Hares Hinged Chocolate Mold

Vintage Three Sitting Hares Hinged Chocolate Mold

This early 20th century mold is most likely manufactured by the most famous maker of fine chocolate molds, Anton Reich, in Dresden Germany.

The interior surfaces of this mold have delightful tin detail. The three hares, set in a banded and hinged pewter frame with two heavy clamp, are identical with their front paws together. After pouring in the chocolate, the heavy base is hinged for closing.

The pewter exterior is richly patinaed that adds character to this antique chocolate mold. Inside and out this antique chocolate mold is in excellent condition and makes a lovely addition to any collection as well as a stand alone piece that could sit on a shelf, or if left opened, hung on a wall for display.
