The Charter Oak
Since man began playing with fire sometime during the Paleolithic era, a hearth has provided an earthy gathering place for socializing and preparing food. The Charter Oak showcases the elegance and depth of flavor created when cooking over the most primitive form of cooking equipment.
Highlighting the Napa Valley’s cornucopia of fresh from the farm vegetables, the intensely flavored dishes include a tartine of preserved tomatoes dropped over a slice of daily made sourdough slathered with fresh local buffalo ricotta and topped with fried almonds, falling off the bone smoked and grilled short rib, and hearth roasted Brussels sprouts.
Beautiful inside and out, the long benches surrounded by evergreen boxwood, gorgeous purple wisteria, and brick covering ivy climbing vines combined with a perpetually blazing fire are an invitation to relax and socialize outside before entering the restaurant for the evening reservation.
